Assembly Constituency, BJP State Executive Member, Madurai South Constituency Organizer for the Bharatiya Janata Party, Tamil Nadu, actively working to strengthen the party and Reaching welfare scheme across the state.
With a rich educational background, she holds multiple degrees including B.L.M., M.A., M.B.A., M.Phil., P.G.D.L.A., and R.B.P. Her diverse academic accomplishments reflect her commitment to continuous learning and leadership excellence.
Professional Journey
A.R. Mahalakshmi began her career with 10 years of service in the State Government’s Department of Municipal Administration. With a passion for entrepreneurship, she resigned from her Government role and Became Proprietor Kannan Jacquard Industries, a successful enterprise manufacturing Jacquard Box Handloom Weaving textile Machinery, supplying across India.
As a visionary entrepreneur, she has been honored with numerous awards, including the Best Entrepreneur Award by the Sourashtra Chamber of Commerce and several Best Women Achiever Awards by various esteemed organizations.

An active member of the BJP since 1992, A.R. Mahalakshmi has held several key positions within the party:

She is recognized as a star campaign speaker, BJP-certified trainer, and media spokesperson. She has successfully led large-scale events, such as the Tamil Nadu Mahila Morcha State Conference “Tamil Magal Thamarai Maanadu” on 22.07 2018, at Madurai attended by over 28,000 people.
Social Service & Empowerment Initiatives
A passionate social reformer, A.R. Mahalakshmi is the Founder-President of multiple organizations dedicated to women’s empowerment and social welfare:
- Soubhagya Women Entrepreneur Club – transforming women into empowered entrepreneurs.
- Madurai Magalir Mandram – uplifting women and the underprivileged.
- Mahalakshmi Trust – is contucting every year on january 7th a mega social welfare program for woman & needy people providing sewing mechine, grinder, iron box, tricycle, medical finacial assitance , educational finacial assistance in madurai committed to social service initiatives for women and marginalized communities.
She has also actively worked on COVID-19 relief efforts, distributing over 1 lakh face masks and thousands of Modi kit bags with essential Groceries to families in need.

AR. Mahalakshmi has represented India in International Women Empowerment Leadership Programs at the University of Iowa, USA. She has also travelled to countries like USA, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia, gaining global perspectives on leadership and development.
Key Contributions & Political Experience
- Contested in the 2016 Assembly Election (Madurai South Constituency), securing 16,069 votes (11.11%), the highest vote count among southern districts.
- Worked extensively for MLA and MP election campaigns, holding parliment in-charge roles, Assambly in-charge roles and serving as a prominent election campaign speaker.
- Known as the only active woman leader in social and political activities in Madurai.
Spiritual & Personal Interests
Alongside her political and social work, AR. Mahalakshmi is deeply spiritual, with interests in Yoga and Meditation. She has been trained under renowned spiritual leaders, including Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, and Swami Sukhabodhananda, Malaysia TRC guruji Sivasmi and has attended the 10-day Vipassana Meditation Program.
